An interesting history of growth and change, from vehicles, to banks & TV. To providing an exceptional service in 2018 and already onto 2019
It’s always fascinating to find out how people got to where they are today, and David’s story is no exception. Like many successful entrepreneurs, he started off small, but soon got bigger.
The business in Colne was originally set up in 2003 with the LDV franchise already in place. When David started up, the first vehicle was sold before the doors officially opened. Over the coming years he expanded the company with a wider range of manufacturers, to meet the increasingly specialised demand of customers.
In 2008 funding became difficult to source for customers due to the financial crisis. Times were tough – lenders were reluctant to give to many businesses but with David’s foresight we approached the challenge in a different way and we started funding vehicles ourselves through the “Bank on Dave!”. This was, and still is for customers who couldn’t go down the conventional high street banking route.
Much of today’s success is attributable to David himself. He is well known as a media personality due to his BAFTA-winning consumer rights programmes The Bank of Dave and David Fishwick: Lone Ranger. He gives regular support to a number of charitable organisations and is a passionate supporter of Burnley FC, giving his name to the David Fishwick Stand as a permanent reminder of his status in the local community. With this reputation to maintain, it’s clear to see how important trustworthiness is to his business efforts.
